The European Career Day Committee 2019-2020

ABOUT US
Hi!
My name is Carmen te Riele, I'm 20 years old, and this year I will be taking over as the chair of the European Career Day organising committee. Apart from this, I am also currently the chair of the Internationalisation committee of JFV Ouranos. I'm from a place called Son en Breugel, near Eindhoven. I'm in my third year of the European Law School bachelor. Furthermore, I'm currently taking the Dutch Law minor, which sadly means I am not actually studying very much European law at the moment. My career dream is to either become a Dutch criminal prosecutor, or a lawyer within the area of competition law, since criminal and European law are my specific areas of interest.
A fun fact about me is that I dance, and for a performance one time I had to learn what is now my signature move: the worm.
I hope to see you all at the European Career Day 2020!

Hi everyone!
My name is Clara Annani-Toutounji and I am 19 years old. I am a second-year European Law student and I am originally Lebanese, but I grew up in France. I am an active member of ELSA in the Academic Activities committee. I do not have a specific career dream; I would like to make the most out of my professional life by exploring different angles of a legal career. At the moment, the fields of law I enjoy the most are the different fields of private law, especially those with a focus on business and corporate law, as well as the field of law and technology (virtual property law, data protection). As a former participant of the European Career Day 2019, I definitely recommend it! ECD is an opportunity for law students to start shaping their career by meeting professionals and building a network. Finally, a fun fact about myself: I am obsessed with hygiene! In fact, when I was 2 years old, I pushed my cousin in the washing machine because he was covered with chocolate.
Good luck with your academic year! I hope to see you at ECD!
Hey you!
Yeah you, reading this.
Glad you're reading this! My name is Dylano Djojowikromo, 19 years old of age and studying European Law for the second year. I'm from The Netherlands, Geleen to be exact. It is 20 minutes from Maastricht. The particular fields of law I have an interest in are corporate law and labour law, hence my dream career is being a lawyer. Preferably in multiple countries! Therefore I am studying European Law instead of Dutch law.
Fun fact: I am pretty good with intimidating some accents! And I have a hard time breathing when I hear Velcro fastener for some reason!

Hello everyone!
My name is Elisabeth Gschösser. I am 19 years old and in my first year of the European Law School. I was born and raised in a small city called Innsbruck in the mountain region of Austria. A fun fact about me is that two years ago, my career dream was to stand on a stage as opera singer. However, an internship at the European Parliament made me aware of my actual interest in law, especially in the field of law and technology. Since I just started my studies, I don’t have my career all planned out yet. I see the European Career Day as a great possibility for students to learn about different career opportunities for the future. As part of the organizing committee I’m excited to make this day a success.
See you all there!
Hello everyone!
My name is Clara Boxus, I am 20 years old and I am currently a second year student at the European Law School. I come from Luxembourg but I was raised in Belgium. I came to Maastricht because I wanted to do something different than study law in my home countries and I am lucky to say that I have been enjoying Maastricht a lot! I am currently an active member of Ouranos and part of the of the European Career Day organizing committee for this year.
The fields of law I enjoy the most are contract law and the law of EU external relations; so my dream job would be to work for the EU. I do not have a precise idea of the job I would like to have later but participating in the ECD last year has definitely already helped with getting some really good insights into possible career paths. Fun fact: I can touch my nose with my tongue!
See you all soon at the ECD!

Hi!
My name is Sena Karatas, I am 20 years old and I am a second year European Law student. I come from Istanbul, Turkey and happy to be in Europe. I am an active member of ELSA as a member of the Moot Court Committee and this year I will take part in the organization of the European Career Day. I enjoy so much studying European Law and I am interested in Human Rights Law and European Private Law. My career dream is to become a lawyer at the law firms in Amsterdam and currently I enjoy my Dutch lessons to hopefully make the Dutch Law minor, which I will start this year, more achievable. I used to do Taekwondo, attended state competitions and won a medal. I also used to do gymnastics while I was in Turkey. In my free time I like to spend my time with my friends, do sports and of course shopping!
I am really happy to make a contribution to enlighten the career path of future law graduates. I hope to see you all there!
Hello,
My name Julian Schulz, I am 19 years old. I originally come from a place called Wiesbaden in Germany and came here in order to get a different experience during my studies. Currently, I am in my second year studying European Law School at Maastricht University and an active member of JFV Ouranos.
After my study my career dream to enter into Corporate law due to the fact that I have an interest in management and corporate interests. I also find criminal law very interesting. A fun fact about me would be that previously to living in the Netherlands I have lived in 5 different countries including Germany, France, England, Egypt and Dubai.
I hope to see you at the ECD 2020!

Hi all,
I’m Lieke and I’m from the Netherlands. I’m 24 years old and currently a master student European Law School. Previously, I studied European studies here in Maastricht and I did a master in European Affairs in Sweden. My favorite areas of law are competition law and environmental law. Since I have a background in politics, I’d love to do something with both law and politics later. I think lobbying for an environmental organization in Brussels would suit me very well. Something about me that few people know is that I used to own pet rats. Most people think they are quite scary, but I think they are really sweet!
Hey everyone!
My name is Maija Maunu and I am a second year European Law student. I am 21 years old and I come from Finland, but I am very happy here at the heart of Europe! I am the Vice President for Academic Activities in ELSA Maastricht and I am helping with the coordination of the European Career Day as a whole. Besides for ELSA and law, in my free time I have always enjoyed keeping myself busy with volunteering and different kinds of youth association work, on top of training and playing with my family’s three dogs! I also used to compete in figure skating and gymnastics, and prior to moving to Maastricht I was a gymnastics and dance coach in my hometown in Finland. I do not have my career all figured out yet, but currently I am enjoying EU law and different fields of private law. I am especially interested in taking more courses related to corporate and competition law this year. Last year ECD gave me so much inspiration regarding possible future career options, and I am very much looking forward to the 2020 edition. I hope to see you there!

Hello there!
My name is Anna-Sophie Hochgürtel and I am a half-German, half-Chinese second-year ELS student. So far, I really enjoy my studies, and I have a special interest in Human Rights Law and International Trade Law. This is also reflected in my career dreams. Currently, I am torn between possibly working for an NGO on Human Rights Law/Legal Aid, or making use of my international heritage and working in areas of trade between the EU and China. I am part of the ECD Team as I was a participant myself last year and was absolutely amazed by how informative and inspiring it was to see other legal professionals talk about their passion and sharing wisdom. So, I highly encourage you to take part this year as well! Finally, a fun fact about myself: I have a condition where I associate numbers and letters with certain colours. What sounds like a weird flex is actually quite useful, especially for learning information by heart and visualization – “ECD”, for instance, is for me: blue-black-yellow!
Hi there!
My name is Anne Coppelmans, 21 years old. I am a Dutch student and i am in my third bachelor year of Dutch law at the University of Maastricht. I am the Chief of External Affairs and Vice-President of the bpard of JFV Ouranos and I am helping with the coördiation of the European Career Day. Next to my study and board year I have a parttime job at the Legal Department of Mise en Place, this job is the perfect job to combine my passion for hospitality and my study Dutch Law. Besides that I love to row, mountainbike and bicycle racing. Fun Fact: I tend to change normal words into verbs.
I am not sure yet what to do in the future, I am interested in corporate law and (international) business law. I hope to find a way to combine hospitality and law again in my future career. I am looking forward to coördinate the ECD the rest of the year and ofcourse I am looking forward to the ECD itself! See you at the 16th of May!
